Pahiatua Railway Excursion via the Manawatu Gorge

This trip was originally planned for February 2015 but due to the very dry weather our fire permit was cancelled, it is now to run on the 19th of April 2015. If you were booked on the original Feb 2015 you have been automatically moved to the 19th of April 2015 trip.
Feilding Steam Rail invites you to a leisurely trip through the Manawatu Gorge to Pahiatua and return. The train will consist of our own four red 1940 vintage carriages, that have been restored at our base in Feilding. The train will depart from Feilding and travel to Palmerston North to pick up more passengers. Our locomotive will swap ends for the run through to Woodville. Then out on to the plains of the Northern Waiarapra, where wind turbine views are unsurpassed. At our destination you will have the opportunity (for a small charge $5) to view the Pahiatua Railcar Society’s depot including their railcars RM 5, RM31 and RM121.
There will be a sausage sizzle and tea and coffee available on the Pahiatua platform. Leaving Pahiatua at 1pm for our return journey home. Back at Palmerston North Railway Station the locomotive will swap ends for its run back to Feilding.
