On board will be Christopher Cape, son of the man who sang the song.  Chris will sing his fathers song and other railway ballads to keep you entertained.

We arrive at Taumarunui for our lunch, which with large pieces of nostalgia,  it is intended to be very like the fare served in the Taumarunui tearooms when the express to Auckland pulled in many years ago.

Taumarunui Hot Lunch One
Pea, Pie, Potato and gravy

Taumarunui Hot Lunch Two

Beef Stew, Mashed potato and peas.

Tea and Coffee and large chunks of fruit cake will wash down your lunch.

You may then wish to visit the railway museum (on the platform) and wander down memory lane before its “All Aboard” again for our return journey to Friendly Feilding.
