F163 – Gorge Photo Rail Enthusiasts Excursion.
Are you a photographer, well then this is the trip for you? If want just go for the ride on a train then this is not the trip for you. The day after on Sunday we have shuttles so keep a eye out for that.
Photo stops locations are planned: (but could change on the day, if a photo stop been cancelled no refunds)
- Ashhurst bridge
- Tunnel 2
- Between two bridges past the intermediate signal
- Woodville
- Ngawapurua bridge #
- Mangainoka Station Crossing #
- Pahiatua #
- West Rd crossing #
- Limeworks – Manawatu Gorge #
Places with # are silver pass locations.
Packed lunch contents – Sandwich, bacon and egg slice, muffin, fruit and a bottle of fruit juice. (if you have any allergies please state them in the comment field below, when purchasing the tickets)
No Alcohol or smoking of any kind is allowed on board.

Please note: we will have on the Sunday Shuttles with the F as well, running from Ashhurst to woodville.

Safety Requirements
- Covered shoes only
- No jandals, open toes shoes, if you turn up with them on you will not be allowed to travel with us and your ticket will not be refunded.
- You will be required to get in & out of the carriages or van at a stop, Please note this will be on unstable ground with lots of hazards in the area. You must be in a fit state to come on this trip.
- Go down the step backwards when disembarking from the carriages or van
- Limited food will be available on the train, you can purchase a packed lunch for the day, have a look at the ticket options.
- Hot and cold drinks will be for sale in the FM van.
- You must follow the directions from the crew at all times, due to the areas we are getting off and Health and Safety.
- 18+ years of age for this excursion due to Health and safety regulations.
