Gumboot Day – Taihape

Feilding & Districts Steam Rail Society is proud to welcome you on board our Steam Gumboot excursion. Experience the magic of classic rail travel behind a real steam engine as you take in the exclusive sights and sounds of our classic train on this spectacular outing to Taihape to the famous Gumboot Day!
A two and a half hour stop-over means there will be plenty of time to watch and enjoy Gumboot Day.
Gumboot throwing is from 10 am to 2 pm, this is for children, youth, open and masters.
North Island Gumboot throwing Championships will be running from 2 pm
Additional events include:
- Art competition display and Taihape Photo Display
- Sack racing
- Hale bale stacking
- Egg and spoon racing
- Egg throwing and catching competition
- Gumboot plank racing
- Dog barking competition
- Taihape Gymnastics display about 10.30am
- McQueen School of Dance about 11.30am
- Throughout the day there will be food, craft, stalls and buskers
- Many of Taihape’s shops will be open

Wab794 our Steam Engine could be replaced by a diesel if there is a fire ban.
To book your tickets, complete the form below. If you choose to pay by online banking we will email though our Westpac Bank Account. Alternately you can choose to pay via Visa or MasterCard.
If you need assistance getting on and off the train ensure that you tick needs assistance on your name when booking.
