Rail safety week – School groups only

Here at Feilding Steam Rail we think learning to stay safe around railway tracks and trains is as important as learning to swim or cross a road.

During this year’s Rail Safety Week we invite you to bring your class to visit our railway and learn about safety around tracks and trains.  KiwiRail and TrackSAFE will also be joining us to share their knowledge and expertise.  We will also have giveaways for the students on the day.

This event is for school groups only (maximum 100 people per group).

When:                14/08/2019 to 21/08/2019

First group

• 0950hrs school group arrives
• 1000hrs school group boards the train at Taonui Station at FDSRS
• 1015hrs talk with students about rail safety
• 1030hrs ride up and down the track twice
• 1100hrs questions
• 1115hrs take a look at the engine and learn about KiwiRail
• 1150hrs groups depart

Second Group

• 1250hrs school group arrives
• 1300hrs school group boards the train at Taonui Station at FDSRS
• 1315hrs talk with students about rail safety
• 1330hrs ride up and down the track twice
• 1400hrs questions
• 1415hrs take a look at the engine and learn about KiwiRail
• 1450hrs groups depart
