The Wellington Experience

Board our Diesel hauled Air Conditioned Train for an unforgettable  Wellington Experience.   The train will depart from the Palmerston North Railways station and quickly take you to the Wellington Railway station.  In Wellington buses will take you from the railway station to Fabulous new Department store

which is magnificently stocked with famous brands from all around the world.

At lunch time it is time to catch the elevator at the James Cook Grand Chancellor Hotel to Whitbys Restaurant up on the 17th floor with sweeping views of the city and harbour.   Whitbys will be serving a scrumptious three course buffet lunch.

Afterwards there might be time for Christmas Shopping on Lambton Quay as it will be 11 weeks to Christmas.

Get a group together, you can add more to your group at any time.  Just tell your friends your booking number so they can put it into their booking and we will seat you all together.  As there are two times for lunch make sure all your group book the same time.

Soup of the day – Two choices

Freshly baked speciality breads and rolls with butter & margarine

A selection of seasonal seafood including prawns, green-lipped mussels, baby shrimps and seafood salads

Platters of continental style meats including succulent honey cured ham, smoked and cured meats, roasted chicken pieces & boiled eggs

Sushi served with traditional accompaniments

A selection of seasonal salads with all the condiments and dressings

Chef’s choice of prime beef, fish or poultry grilled to your liking

Hot savouries or quiches

Traditionally prepared stews and curries

Fresh pasta’s accompanied with daily changing sauces

Locally sourced prime beef, lamb, fish and poultry dishes with traditional accompaniments alternating daily

Seasonal vegetable dishes and potatoes

Vegetarian dish of the day

Dessert smorgasbord

Ice-cream, pavlova, assorted gateaux and tarts, and other chef specialities

New Zealand cheeses served with crackers, nuts & dried fruits

Freshly brewed coffee, tea and a selection of herbal infusions

 

At the 3.55 pm you will board our train to return you to Palmerston North.  This will be a licenced train and you will be able to purchase drinks on the way home.
