Candlelight Express
11th to 13th July 2019
We at Feilding & District Steam Rail Society have run three days of the Candlelight Express for the community’s little kids and big kids. People came from as far as Napier and Upper Hutt to enjoy this experience.
After arriving in the dark you walk through a magical light tunnel to a sparkle of more lights on our 1940’s carriages transport you into a mid winter wonderland. The train is hauled by our 139 year old steam locomotive which is also covered in lights.
After leaving the restored Taonui Station you travel up and down the Feilding yard and with the steam from the locomotive the atmosphere is amazing.
Due to high demand we are now doing this again for another 2 nights Friday,19th and Saturday, 20th July 6pm to 8:30pm (last train).
