Manawatu Gorge Steam Excursion

Manawatu Gorge Steam Excursion

Date: 07/08/16
Time: 9:00 am - 1:40 pm
Location: Feilding Railway Station

Feilding Steam Rail invites you to a leisurely trip through the Manawatu Gorge to Woodville and return. The train will consist of our own four red 1940 vintage carriages and 1927 Wab794 ex-NZR Steam Locomotive that have been restored at our base in Feilding. The train will depart from Feilding and travel to Palmerston North to pick up more passengers.  Our locomotive will swap ends for the run through to Woodville. The Manawatu Gorge Railway line has two tunnels and offers a view of the State Highway showing it clinging to the cliff and bridged by many small bridges. At Woodville you can watch the locomotive run around the balloon loop to hook up to the other end of the train. We will return to Palmerston North Railway Station, the locomotive will swap ends for its run back to Feilding. Wab794 at Woodville
