Its not quite like the circus has come to town with all it’s excitement, but if you yearn to hear the clicky clack of wheels on the rail then you will find it exciting.
We will be bringing our carriages filled with passengers from the Manawatu to Hawera hauled by a diesel locomotive. While our passengers are visiting places like Tawhiti Museum we will run a trip for the people of Hawera to renew their bond with rail travel. Your grandchildren may never have been on a train but you may remember the daylight expresses to New Plymouth many years ago.
Whether you are young or old this is your opportunity for a little nostalgia. Sit back in our 1930’s carriages and enjoyed the ride to Stratford and return.
The train will be in Stratford for an hour so that the diesel locomotive can be turned on the turntable. This will give just enough time to walk to town for some lunch. We will have souvenirs for sale as well on the platform.
